Sorting and Sifting Information
Organize and select information that contributes to your understanding.

Now that you have gathered the data to answer your questions and have learned more about key organisms in this ecosystem, it is time to sort through all this information.

Ask the following questions while looking at your Notes Sheet.

• Do you have enough information about the organisms to select one that will be most greatly affected by human interaction?
• Do you have enough information about the needs of humans and the type of interaction being considered?
• Have you collected facts that are not necessary to your study?
• If you need additional information, return to the Gathering step.

Tip: Cross out facts that will not help you in making your recommendations. To do this, highlight the text, then click on Format / Font and click the box beside Strikethrough. Your notes will remain, but will have a thin line through them.
