About Capital Projects

Funding for school construction, facility improvements, and property purchases mostly comes from local voters through bond elections. This is separate from the district’s general fund and by law, cannot be used for day-to-day operations or to address budget shortfalls.

Bonds provide funds for large school construction projects via voter-approved ballot measures.

We are grateful for our community's support of bonds passed in 2022, 2018 and 2013 that allow us to fund school construction projects to improve the education experience for our students, staff, families and community.

In fall 2025, our community passed facilities maintenance levy, which is a type of capital levy. We receive money over the time of the levy (six years) but without the long-term financing costs that come with bonds (like a mortgage for a home). The capital levy is for major renovations and system replacements.
