Staff across BPS convene together at Bellingham High School for annual All-Staff Kick-Off

Staff across BPS convene together at Bellingham High School for annual All-Staff Kick-Off

Bellingham Public Schools hosted the 2026 edition of its annual All-Staff Kick-Off on Thursday, Aug. 27 at Bellingham High School. 

The event provides an opportunity for staff from all locations and roles to gather as One Schoolhouse ahead of the new school year.

Bellingham High School principal Ben Goodwin and Happy Valley Elementary School principal Kelly Gouveia served as this year's emcees. Superintendent Greg Baker shared a kick-off address.

School bus transportation is provided annually to help staff travel to and from work locations to the site of the kick-off. Upon arriving, staff were welcomed by cheerleaders from Bellingham, Sehome and Squalicum High Schools along with the Bellingham High School band. Staff were also able to connect with one another and enjoy coffee and refreshments donated by Starbucks Coffee and Woods Coffee,

When the event program got underway in the gym, the Bellingham High School Showstoppers performed the national anthem and BHS student Rylie Anderson shared the land acknowledgement. Staff also had the chance to view a video showcasing Promise Award recipients.

Thanks to our emcees, student performers and staff who help us host this annual event. The event embodied this year's theme, "Together we achieve more".

We look forward to welcoming students in grades 1-12 for the first day of school on Monday, Aug. 31.

We also look forward to welcoming our kindergarten, Promise kindergarten and preschool students on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
