A Message from Communications and Community Relations

The last day of school for the 2024-25 school year is  Friday, June 13.  

All schools are on an early dismissal schedule:

  • Elementary schools dismiss at 12:20 p.m.
  • Middle schools dismiss at 1:15 p.m.
  • High schools dismiss at 2 p.m.

Summer hours

All school offices will be open June 16, 17, 18 and June 20 from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. and the District Office will be operating on its regular hours 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

All school offices and the District Office will be closed Thursday, June 19 for the Juneteenth holiday.

Starting Monday, June 23 through Friday, Aug. 15, elementary and middle school offices will be closed to the public for the summer.

Bellingham, Sehome and Squalicum high school offices will be open June 23 to July 3 from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. They will be closed July 7 to 18, except Bellingham High which will be open for summer school. BHS, SHS and SQHS reopen July 21 on a Monday-to-Thursday schedule through Aug. 15.

Options High School is closed Monday, June 23 through Monday, Aug. 18 and reopens on Tuesday, Aug. 19.

Beginning June 23 through Aug. 15, the District Office is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed to the public on Fridays.

All schools and the District Office are closed Friday, July 4 for the Independence Day holiday.

Please note the following dates for the 2025-26 school year:

  • The first day of school for grades 1 to 12 and for Community Transitions is Tuesday, Sept. 2.
  • Family entry conferences will be scheduled for preschool, Kindergarten and Promise K on Sept. 2 and 3.
  • The first day for kindergarten and Promise K is Thursday, Sept. 4.
  • The first day for preschool is Friday, Sept. 5.
