A Message from Communications and Community Relations

We want to share our complete calendar for the 2026-27 school year, including an updated early dismissal schedule.

This webpage has our most up-to-date calendars and key dates.  

Early dismissal times and frequency are changing next year for middle and high school.

• Starting next school year, all levels will be dismissed early every Thursday.
• On Thursdays, high school will dismiss at 1:15 p.m. and middle school will dismiss at 2 p.m.
• Elementary will continue to dismiss at 12:20 p.m. on Thursdays.

We are making this change in collaboration with our labor partners to allow for a consistent weekly schedule and to provide staff with regular time for collaboration, professional development, family engagement and planning.

Please note the first day of school for grades 1-12 is Monday, Aug. 31, 2026. The first day for kindergarten and Promise K is Wednesday, Sept. 2. Preschool at Sunnyland, Cordata, Happy Valley and Alderwood also starts Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Community Transitions and the Family Partnership Program will send information directly to families about orientations, conferences and start of classes.

As always, inclement weather and other circumstances could require calendar adjustments, especially with snow days, and the last day of the school year is subject to change.
