A Message from Superintendent Greg Baker

Dear staff, students, families and community,

We’ve made it! Today, Friday, June 12 is officially the last day of school for the 2025-26 school year.

Our theme this year was care and respect, which is a key part of our mission in our strategic plan, The Bellingham Promise, “We collectively commit that our students are cared for and respected, and that they will graduate from our schools prepared for success.”

I want to express appreciation to our staff, families and community partners for focus and support in highlighting care and respect for all students. We see examples of this care and respect in our classrooms, buses, lunchrooms, playgrounds, enrichment groups, fields, courts, tracks, stages and beyond.  And to our students, congratulations on completing another year of learning and growing and preparing yourselves for your futures!

Speaking of our students, our 54th Annual All-City Track and Field Meet was last week where all fifth graders across our district gather for some friendly competition at Civic Stadium.

Over the last week, we celebrated the class of 2026 during five graduation events. You can see photos and stream videos. 
 

We are so proud of all of our students.

In the midst of these celebrations, we will continue to problem-solve our ongoing state-wide budget challenges and declining enrollment. I know we are stronger together, and I trust we will meet these challenges with intentionality and with integrity.

I wish you all a safe and joyful summer, and we are excited to see you in August!
