Due to budget challenges, we have a new voluntary fee for WIAA high school sports starting this school year, 2025-26.

Funds collected help cover growing costs, including transportation and officials.

Here’s what you need to know: 

• High School Sports: This voluntary athletic fee is for high school student-athletes. BPS does not collect athletic fees for middle school athletes.
• WIAA sports: This includes cross country, football, soccer, softball, swim/dive, volleyball, basketball, bowling, gymnastics, wrestling, baseball, golf, tennis and track and field. Please note that we are not asking for donations for unified sports and/or activities, but all contributions are welcome.
• Fee Amount: $100 per student per sport.
• Voluntary: This is optional. A student can still participate in sports even if a family chooses not to pay, and payment information will be kept confidential.
• How to Pay: Families of BPS students can pay online through Online Payments.

Donations from community members or extended family are also accepted through the online payment portal or in person, by cash or check. We also encourage donations via Bellingham Public Schools Foundation.
