A Message from Superintendent Greg Baker

Dear students, staff, families and community,

We know there’s continued interest around our facilities planning task force and forthcoming recommendations that may include repurposing some school sites or programs and/or reconfiguring attendance areas for schools, especially elementary.

I want to share a link to an interview with local radio station KMRE where I was asked a number of questions by the radio host and a parent.

Although lengthy, it may be helpful to help better understand this important conversation happening in our community. We discuss enrollment projections, birth rates and budget challenges, among other frequently asked questions.

You may have seen information in your school’s newsletter re: facts related to recent bonds and funding. I encourage you to review these facts to better understand the greater context of bonds, project planning and sharing this information with our community. For example, improving and eventually rebuilding the District Office was a project in development for 20 years with engagement and transparency.
