A Message from Shuksan Principal Craig Baldwin
Dear Shuksan families and students,
I want to share some news with you about next school year.
We are excited to welcome Jessica Wallace as new assistant principal at Shuksan Middle School.
As a TOSA, Ms. Wallace helped lead our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Standing Committee’s work which included implementing inclusive classroom practices and supporting data-driven teaming. She has provided leadership in facilitating professional development to staff, specifically around thinking maps, literacy and early childhood. Prior to the TOSA role, Ms. Wallace taught at Birchwood Elementary School for seven years. She started her teaching career in Spokane Public Schools.
Ms. Wallace brings experience, energy and joy to her work, and I know she will develop meaningful connections with staff, students and families. She recently earned her principal certificate through the University of Washington Danforth Educational Leadership Program. She has her master’s degree in language and literacy from Western Washington University and earned her bachelor's degree from Eastern Washington University.
Thank you to everyone who served on the interview committee, and please join me in welcoming Ms. Wallace to Shuksan!
Craig Baldwin
