All spring 2025 state testing reports are now available in Skyward Family Access. Please continue reading for instructions on how to access your child’s results and resources to understand what these scores mean for your child’s learning.  

How to view your child’s reports: 

1. Login to Skyward Family Access in a browser or in the Skyward mobile app. 
2. If you have more than one child, choose the child whose state test result(s) you would like to view.  
3. Choose Portfolio, then choose the report that you would like to view. This report will open as a PDF document. 
4. Questions? Please see our frequently asked questions below or contact your child’s teacher or school.  
5. If you have difficulty accessing the electronic score report, please call your school for help or to request a paper copy. 

More information about state testing 
Every year Washington public school students in grades 3-8 and 10 take state tests in English language arts (ELA) and math. Students also take a science test in grades 5, 8 and 11. These assessments measure if students are meeting or exceeding grade-level expectations and meet our district’s state and federal accountability requirements.

One of BPS’ core beliefs is to focus on the whole child, and state tests are only one benchmark among many in assessing the development of our kids. We encourage you to keep these tests in perspective of our overall goals.  
 
Questions and Answers 
How do I get help with my login / account for Skyward Family Access?  
 If you need to reset your password, go to Skyward Family Access and click “Forgot My Password.” A reset link will be sent to the email address we have on file for you as a guardian. (Please make sure to check junk or spam folders for reset link emails.) If you are not sure what your Skyward account login (email) is or need help resetting your password, contact your school’s office.  
 
Who do I call if I have questions about my child’s report?   
 We encourage you to contact your child’s teacher(s) to discuss strategies that can help your child both in school and at home.  
 
Didn’t we get these last spring?
Yes, many families received an early report for Smarter Balanced ELA and math tests last spring when preliminary data was available. For those who received early reports, these final reports in Skyward are identical to those you received via ParentSquare.

What tests can I expect my child to take this year?  
 Look at our assessment schedule, and visit www.k12.wa.us/student-success for additional information about state testing, graduation requirements, and learning standards.  
 
What if I would prefer to look at a paper copy of my child’s score report?    
 Please contact your child’s school to print a copy and send home.  
 
How do state assessments affect high school graduation? 
 There are three main high school graduation requirements: earning credits, completing a High School and Beyond Plan and completing a graduation pathway. Please see pages 4-7 of our high school course catalog  (en español) for more information about each of these. The spring tests in both math and English language arts can be used to meet a graduation pathway requirement for many students. If high school families or students would like more information about graduation requirements, please contact your high school counselor.
